Understanding By Design
UBD provides a framework to teach for understanding so that we can maximize student engagement and ensure that they apply their knowledge in a meaningful way. Thinking Citizen Scholars master teachers will feature UBD activities in all of their lessons.
Reading Across the Curriculum
In efforts to increase student literacy, increased reading in all subjects is necessary. Social studies narratives are particularly engaging for students. Thinking Citizen Scholars reading specialists work with teachers on practical instructional strategies that they can use in their classrooms. Additionally, we have programs for reading about social studies in the elementary school classroom.
